Government program to guide Belarus' innovative development in 2021-2025 adopted

MINSK, 16 September (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko signed decree No.348 on 15 September to approve the government program on innovative development of Belarus in 2021-2025, the president's press service told BelTA.
The program was worked out taking into account the experience of realization of a similar program in 2016-2020. That program resulted in the commissioning of 74 new manufacturing enterprises, with the output of innovative products close to Br6 billion, the share of innovating industrial organizations exceeding 26%, and the volume of export of science-intensive and high-tech products as high as $14.2 billion.
In the course of implementing the new government program organizations of all types of ownership will carry out innovative projects to create new enterprises that match priority directions of scientific, R&D, and innovative activities in 2021-2025. It will allow successfully developing the proprietary scientific and technological potential, promoting Belarusian technologies onto the world market, and using cutting-edge foreign technologies.
The list of the program's projects meant to create new manufacturing enterprises has to be compiled by the Council of Ministers and will be expanded every year. These projects will be recognized as investment projects. They will receive state support in the form of tax and customs stimuli.
These novelties will allow considerably reducing the time needed to approve projects and allocate funds. They will also allow inviting innovative enterprises and investors to participate in the program.
As a result of the program's implementation by 2025 there are plans to create about 100 highly remunerative export-oriented enterprises, increase the share of innovating organizations in the processing industry up to 30.5%, and increase the volume of export of science-intensive and high-tech products up to $18.3 billion.
